ORGANISERS TO COMMENCE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF PRIVATE EQUITY NIGERIA AWARDS ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2016.

IN WHAT IS THE FIRST EDITION OF AN ANNUAL INDUSTRY AWARD CEREMONY, the organizers of the event will officially launch the website for Private Equity Nigeria Awards on Monday September 12, 2016. While the website would be active, applications are expected to start coming in from September 19, 2016. Nigeria’s Private Equity Industry Practitioners are expected to visit the website and send in their applications for any of the listed award categories.

It would be recalled that in 2013 the Federal Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment set up a committee, to generate recommendations for developing an optimal environment for private equity from a regulatory, economic and fiscal perspective. This signaled the government's increasing recognition of private equity's potential as a catalyst for development. Today we are witnessing the tremendous impact of private equity across Nigeria in forms of successful investments being undertaking by some of Nigeria’s brightest financial innovators, and we are excited about the growing role of private equity as a vehicle for creating jobs and growing industries in today and the nearest future.

A panel of Judges shall be selected and recruited from leading private equity industry practitioners.

Private Equity Nigeria Awards is an initiative of Manel Private Equity Advisors, a private equity advocacy firm promoting private equity as a veritable source of innovative capital for economic development.
